Scott Smith

The passion he acquired while developing his own financial strategies has turned into a career for Scott Smith. His goal is to help people understand their financial situation and prepare for retirement. In today’s uncertain economic times, he feels that people must be proactive in planning for their own future.

As an independent contractor at Raymond James, Scott enjoys the freedom he has to spend time getting to know each client before they make any investment decisions. His goal is to understand their unique needs, and to get information about their background and who they truly are. This helps him work with clients to find a financial plan that uses a variety of investment choices and will best suit their situation.

Scott has over 5 years of financial planning experience, following a career in retail grocery and the loan business,. A graduate of Utah State University, Logan, Utah in Political Science and Business Administration, he holds a financial services license series 7, 63, and 66.

A member of the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce, Scott serves on the State Planning Council for Weber and Davis counties. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Wildcat Club for Weber State University.

Scott is from Pocatello, Idaho and moved to the Ogden, Utah area about 7 years ago.  He and his wife Julie have 5 children and 5 grand children and live in Layton. He enjoys skiing, fishing, the outdoors and frequent trips to his cabin in Idaho.
