I am a versatile and creative writer who has been in the business for over 20 years. My greatest strengths are my resourcefulness and my maturity. My background includes both graphic design and writing. I can skillfully integrate and communicate in both areas, making me a great team player. I believe that I can help anyone improve their bottom-line by improving their copy. It doesn’t really matter where. Offline in any marketing piece, or online on a website, a blog or in an email, good copy equals good communication equals improved sales.

Putting up websites is not my strongest suit, yet. I’m working on it because I think that a total integration of writing content, design and technical wizardry is important and I find few webmasters that are able to combine all three. I also believe that all the flash in the world is not going to make the sale. What will make your sale is being noticed through good search engine rankings (SEO). If someone does a search for something you sell, you should come up on the first page. Once people make it to your page, then your copy needs to be compelling enough for them to give you their information, so that you can continue to sell to them until they buy. As any good advertiser knows, relationships, though different exposures are what turn into sales.

Using the techniques I have acquired through education, 20 years of writing marketing communications, plus extensive online research, I guarantee that my writing skills and SEO techniques will work to increase the traffic to your product. I cannot guarantee the product, but I will increase your customer’s desire to buy it and you’ll see that through more opt-ins. My websites may not have all the bells and whistles that you might find on other sites, but as I’ve said before, bells and whistles don’t sell. Copy sells. So, give me a try. EXPERIENCE:

Advertising Manager CSUH Pioneer (now CSUEB), Hayward, CA. Sold, designed, and wrote both display and classified advertising for the Cal State Pioneer, student newspaper.

Creative Director Hayward Arts Council Hayward, CA. Designed and wrote advertising and public relations for the Hayward Arts Council. Managed and completed the  collection, compilation, design, writing and printing of the Open Studio Catalog, featuring the artwork of over 50 artists in the Hayward area for the event from 1995-97.

Marketing Director:Leo A. Meyer Associates, Hayward, CA 5 years : Designed and wrote marketing pieces, brochures, direct mail, book covers, and trade show materials, for HVAC, technical publisher. Responsible for investing, tracking and following through with advertising campaigns mainly involving direct mail and trade show attendance. Helped successfully launch new products and books and increase sales of existing products while employed with this company.

While my marketing career took somewhat of a back seat, I continued to work as a freelance writer while teaching school for 11 years. As a teacher I used my writing and designing skills to adapt materials for my junior high special education students.
